I am writing to say how pleased I am with the service provided by your company during our recent crisis when our own refrigerated vehicle suffered mechanical problems.

Not only did you meet our various needs in a fast and friendly manner, but the vehicles were superb, always scrupulously clean and all at a sensible price.

Thanks for all your help, I will certainly use you again if I have any need for replacement or additional refrigerated transport and would certainly recommend you to others.

“fridgeonwheels” moves forward with GRP Westbury

GRP’s latest order for twenty-three new vehicles from Glenthorpe Contracts Ltd, Trading As “fridgeonwheels” -, which was specified with a mix of refrigerated van conversions and rigid bodies, means that the Westbury based company has now supplied refrigerated bodies to over 50% of the Glenthorpe fleet, which has been re-branded under the new “fridgeonwheels” logo.

The newly branded “fridgeonwheels” operation from Glenthorpe Contracts Ltd, offers full rental and contract hire of refrigerated vehicles designed specifically for the meat and food manufacturing industries. The company has developed a strong working relationship with GRP Westbury and all the latest vehicles, comprising of fourteen refrigerated van conversions and a mixture of nine 3.5tonnes and 7.5tonnes refrigerated box bodies, have been built to full ATP specification by GRP Westbury.

When questioned about his decision Steve Vass of Glenthorpe Contracts Ltd stated, “GRP are renowned for building a very good refrigerated body, which is supported by a 10-year guarantee. From experience, we know that the GRP bodies are robust products that can handle the tough operating conditions experienced in the fiercely competitive rental and contract hire market. All the vehicles are extremely smart in appearance and the stylish but practical GRP bodywork will achieve at least a five year working life, depending on the type of contract.”

The Glenthorpe Contracts “fridgeonwheels” operation was launched early in 2006, with over seventy vehicles from car derived vans up to 18tonne refrigerated box bodied trucks. This dedicated brand now offers a comprehensive range of refrigerated vehicles, covering chilled to deep frozen applications.

Both the refrigerated van conversions and the box bodies are produced at the GRP manufacturing facility at Westbury in Wiltshire. The location of GRP Westbury and proven track record in production quality and timely delivery was a key factor in Glenthorpe’s decision to specify GRP for the latest vehicle order.

“The close location of our factory to the Glenthorpe operation was influential during the design and build process, as was the experienced sales and technical support that was provided throughout the contract discussions. This combination ensured that Glenthorpe benefited from receiving vehicles with the correct specification of refrigerated bodywork that fully meet the demands of their customers,” said Jarvis MacDonald, Managing Director GRP Westbury.

I am writing to say how pleased I was that you were able to solve the recent dilemma when the fridge engineer damaged the radiator whilst changing the fridge drive belt making the vehicle inoperable.

Having dealt with your company for over seven years, I was expecting you to provide a replacement vehicle within 24 hours as contracted, but I was both amazed and delighted when the vehicle turned up within the hour.

Well done!

Many thanks for the excellent service.
